Be a Playful Kid Again – Secret to Unlock Your Genius

Being a Playful Kid Again allows you to Unlock Your Genius by tapping into the Gift of Playfulness.

Playfulness allows us to have fun, enjoy life, and lets our creativity run wild.

We all have a little kid inside us and it’s important for the kid to play. When our inner child does not play for a long time, the child throws temper tantrums and it shows up in the form of self sabotage and doubt.

Action Step: What activity did you love to do as a little child? Take one action today that will bring out the playful kid again.

Your soul and spirit will be grateful. If you can’t think of anything, take 1 minute and go skipping. I promise you, you will feel energized from this experience.

Hope you enjoy the video! We had a lot of fun making it. =)

Great post! If every one still have a child’s heart and attitude as they grow older they would be happier!

    • So true Maggie! Thanks for stopping by. We are all big kids. Notice why grandparents and kids get along so well. They’ve gone through life and noticed what’s really important are the memories we create with those who we love. =)

haha this is awesome Eiji! When I was volunteering the other week we were working at clearing up a park for the kids in the community. When everything was all finished up, I ran over to the playground and started climbing on the jungle gym and going down the slide….I tried to get all the girls to join me, but they were “too tired” to play. I can never be too tired to play on a playground!!!

Great post, loved seeing you have a good time!

This is such a great idea! It is really good to stop being so serious once in a awhile and “let loose”. It has to be good for you:) Thanks Eiji

    • Hi Glyna! I love your YouTube videos, they are so warm and friendly.

Letting loose allows us to release stress which is the #1 cause of health issues. Once a week is a minimum and ideally multiple times a day.

      Thanks for stopping by! =)

  4. I love this post. I love taking time to just play and do something that makes me feel young. I recently turned 50 and I need this all the more now. ; )

Congratulations on turning 50 and entering the 2nd half of your life!

How wonderful is it to enter with all the wisdom and experience you now have? =)

  5. I just love this video. It reminds me of how much fun I had as a kid. We all need to keep in touch with that kid, because that really is our authentic self. And I still LOVE to swing!

  6. Hi Eiji,

Loved the energy and fun in the video. And you are so right! We do let the seriousness and burdens of life suppress our inner child. Thanks for the reminder that I need to play a little bit as well.

    • Hi Debbie, it was a ton of fun. My commitment is to schedule at least once a week for playing with my wife.

One quote that I found powerful and funny at the same time is: “Don’t take yourself so seriously, no one else does.”

Life is a constant reminder of what we already know but haven’t been doing.

I’m grateful you stopped by. Thank you! =) – Eiji

    Hey Eiji,

Thanks for the reminder about being a kid. As a kid I remember riding my bike all the time and everywhere I went to.
We all need to remember the kid inside of us. Keeps us young at heart.

    Make it a great day!
    God Bless,
    -ed

    • Hey Ed, remembering what you loved to do when you were little is a key to happiness and fulfillment.

Everything you needed to know in terms of your passions and talents, God given you the moment you were born. I know Ed that you already know that. One thing I really admire about you is your faith.

      God Bless,

  8. Steve Vernon says:

How fun! Thanks for the reminder that we all just need bring out the child in us every once in awhile! Actually, we should all be like little children all the time, with a new willingness to grow and learn and experience without reserve.

    • Thanks Steve for stopping by! You are so right to do it without reserve. That reserve holds me back from playing full out more often than I care to admit.

It truly is a great feeling when we don’t hold anything back and be authentic and comfortable in our own being.

  9. Hi Eiji!
I totally agree that playing is an essential ingredient to a life well-lived (not to mention one of the greatest sources of inspiration around). Unleashing ourselves on the playground can restore our energy, give us a renewed sense of purpose, and simply give us a much-needed break from our entrepreneurial pursuits. Thanks for sharing this powerful reminder to embrace recess all over again! Dodgeball, anyone? :)

This was my favorite post this week.

I feel compelled to watch “Finding Neverland” tonight. You guys had so much fun there, and without tapping into that inner child, we lose our curiosity and sense of adventure. Those two things catapult us to fantastic heights!
Thanks so much for this gift, Eiji!

    • Thanks Paul! Quite a compliment knowing how many posts you read a week.

You are so on target on with curiosity and adventure. They are two critical ingredients to genius. Adventure makes life fun and fun eliminates fear.

I am looking forward to reading your latest post today. =)

What a fun idea & I can see how by taking time to do this every now and then can help you to perhaps become re-focused & relax a little bit ;-) Thanks for sharing this neat idea! Christine

  14. Vanessa says:

Oooh what a fun idea! As a child I used to love to paint and make (very poor!) clay models.

I can’t wait for my baby to get a bit bigger, I can lots of fun with paint with him!

Being a playful kid again must be good for your health too, stress reduction, more exercise from going on the swings etc…

Right I’m off to do some doodling!
