How to Maximize Your Opportunities
Now let’s take a look at the word above. Take 15 seconds and look and study the word in detail.
Here are 3 questions that may be a great lesson to learn for some of you:
1) How many of you knew what the word was despite it being mispelled?
You have the ability to recognize information even when it’s not complete, mispelled, or distorted. Our mind is built to put the puzzle pieces together and fill in the _____.
2) Did you focus on the meaning of the word or the mispelling of the word? Did it bother you that it was mispelled? Or were you trying to see what the gift or lesson is?
Opportunities rarely come in a box neatly gift wrapped with a spotlight screaming opportunity. Often times the best opportunities are diamonds covered up with dirt and dust. Unlucky people focus on the dirt and dust while lucky people see the pure pristine diamond inside. Opportunities come when you can see what others can’t and when you bring out the diamonds to light, people will dismiss your accomplishment and say you are lucky.
3) How many of you actually clicked on the word to see where it will take you?
Luck is recognizing and taking advantage of an opportunity when you see one.
According Marcia Shimoff, author of Happy for No Reason and teacher in the movie The Secret, states happy people have a wider peripheral vision to see more opportunities in life than unhappy people. I believe the same is true for luck. If you believe you are lucky or a money magnet, your vision will expand to look out for opportunity. See How to Improve Your Luck post
Opportunities are always around you. Always have been and always will. The fact that you are reading this means you are a driven individual. One challenge for driven individuals is that during “laser focus” mode, we often only see the trees right in front of us and sometimes the solutions could be right beside us in the forest. Perhaps it’s a strategic partnership or a joint venture or a 3rd party perspective to get a better view of the forest instead of the trees.
As entrepreneurs we begin to realize working harder is rarely the answer, it’s about working smarter creating repeatable systems to make the best use of our time, energy, and money.
When is NOW a good time to be even more aware of all the opportunities around you?
Your assignment should you choose to accept it: Be aware of 5 opportunities that will propel you towards your #1 goal. Choose 1 and implement it.
When you open 1 door, a dozen new doors are available for you to open. This is your Choose Your Own Adventure Book. You are the author, you might as well make it a happy ending.
Please share your comments and wins from this assignment.

Hi Beverly,
Isn’t it neat how are blog posts are related? I love that because we can piggyback off each other giving more value and resources to our audience.
Yes, be laser focused while occasionally stopping to take a look around and smell the flowers. =)

Eiji! I was amazed. The examples you gave of seeking and taking opportunity were what I exercised.. and the opposites that you shared were very much what I’ve been like in the past. Judgmental, especially..
Thanks for guiding me through a period of self-reflection and realization! I have great reason to celebrate today!

Once again Eiji I am impressed. I had to share this post because this is one of the best posts I’ve personally read in a very long time. It was funny cause I didn’t realize the word was spelled wrong, but me being a cpu nerd saw the blue underline and said oooh a link lol. Don’t wanna reveal the secret on the other side, but it would behoove anyone to click that link up there. You’re great man. See ya later

“Take that small step” is so powerful. All great accomplishments starts with a small step.
In my coaching sessions, the more stuck the client is, the smaller the step it takes to get unstuck. Moving even for a tiny bit creates moment.
Listen to your heart is another nugget of wisdom. The heart is the center of all intelligence and sends messages to the brain. You can live without a brain but not without a heart.

Hey Eiji,
Great post my friend. I was sharing ideas about being prepared for opportunity when it shows up. It is always around us and ready for us to be prepared to take it in and enjoy the benefits of it. We just need to be ready to allow it to be revealed to us. Thanks for the opportunity to be part of your journey.
It is a great blessing.
Make it a great day!

Hi Eiji,
What a wonderfully crafted and written article. You are talented and creative. It is a joy to read and consider your writings. Isn’t it amazing how our brains are wired to jump ahead before we have even read what is on offer? I saw opportunity right from the outset because I am wired to seek opportunities. They are everywhere and it is sometimes a challenge to discern what is real from hype.
Have a blessed day.

Interesting post. Sorta reminds me to the always optimistic little girl who got excited because her Dad (trying to teach her a lesson) gave her a huge pile of horse manure for her birthday. She grabbed a shovel and wildly started digging into the manure. Her Father asked her “What are you doing” And she responded “Daddy there gotta be a “Pony in here somewhere”
Eiji,
Loved the post……especially your last paragraph….”This is your Choose-Your-Adventure Book…..” What a great thought and a great reminder! Isn’t it awesome that we can, indeed, choose our own adventure? And better still, we can choose to have another adventure tomorrow!
Wishing you continued success,
